A Free and Fun Point-and-Click Adventure Game

Queen's Quest 2: Stories of Forgotten Past is a point-and-click hidden objects game, developed by Artifex Mundi. It is available on a free trial basis, with purchase of the full game required to complete the adventure. Although it is the sequel to Queen's Quest: Tower of Darkness, the story of Queen's Quest 2 is unrelated to the first game, which may be disappointing to some, but which makes it accessible to new and returning players alike.

Fairytale Elements

The game itself is set in a fairytale setting, with the player taking on the role of a shape-shifting alchemist, who has been asked to investigate the murder of the king's trusted agent. Along the way, the player encounters legendary figures like Robin Hood, Snow White and Little Red Riding Hood. Core gameplay combines classic point-and-click and hidden object game elements with puzzles and potion-making.

Engaging Story

Ultimately, Queen's Quest 2: Stories of Forgotten Past benefits from an engaging story, intelligent use of puzzles and a collectibles mechanic that rewards multiple playthroughs. While the story loses some of its early momentum in the second half, it remains compelling enough and this, combined with its easy to pick up gameplay, make the game a worthy purchase for both casual and experienced gamers.

PROS

  • Interesting, fairytale-based storyline

  • Artwork is aesthetically pleasing

CONS

  • Story runs out of steam in the second half
